My name is Jasmin. At the beginning of April 2011 I started to combine two of my passions: Travelling and bicycling.
My journey starts in Thailand and goes through Laos. I have no idea where else it will take me and where it will end.
To go on a big trip by bicycle has been a dream of mine for a long time.
In Switzerland where I live bicycles have always been my preferred means of transport. I cycle to work, I cycle to the shops, I cycle to the bars and clubs, I cycle when it rains, I cycle when it snows…
When, 13 years ago, I undertook my first bicycle tour around Switzerland with my friend Christina, I discovered that cycling is also a great way to explore places.
This trip was followed by a tandem journey to Paris with my Dad and a tour through Denmark and parts of Germany with my friend Michele.
In 2008/09 I travelled and volunteered in South- and Central America. That’s where I caught the travel bug. From time to time I met or heard of people travelling by bicycle and I was wondering if I could do the same one day.
In November 2010 I set off for another journey. I started in Nepal and travelled through India, where I spent a month of my time in an Eco Village. Once more, I encountered people that were cycling around the world. Inspired by their journeys I started to dream and wonder again.
Then things happened very fast. I met Theo from Greece who spontaneously decided to join me on a bicycle trip starting in Thailand.
